Since week 3 I've built my own ownership numbers for the Milly, from scratch, with no other site's numbers in the model. Every week I grade them against what the field actually did, next to a well-respected industry leader's numbers.
The first two weeks I was close. Then I fell behind for two weeks. Last week I beat them.
Here's what I got wrong, what I changed, and three things you can use Sunday.
I say a guy goes 10%, he goes 12%, I missed by two. Average that over every player. The leader and I both miss by about two.
The first two weeks I lost by a hair. The next two I lost by a quarter of a point. Last week I won by about a fifth. The ten most popular players decide a Sunday, and that's where those two weeks went.
Showdowns are a different story. Through mid-October they were closer. Since then it's three nights to two my way, with a tie.

At week 3 I had Smith-Njigba near 30% because he projected like a star. The leader had him at 12. People don't pick the best player, they pick the best price.
So I built a fake field that drafts real $50,000 lineups the way people do. By Sunday I had him at 19, and he went 19.
The best value on the slate is never a secret. If any number says he's low-owned, mine included, it's wrong.
In September TwoGun told me a cheap quarterback gets played when his receivers are good value. In October he told me 25% is really, really high for a quarterback.
Week 5 I had Brissett near 30, cheap, with the slate's two most popular pass catchers. TwoGun said that was too high, so I cut him to 19. He went 29%.
September TwoGun was right. October TwoGun cost me ten points, and the fix I built off his line still wins most weeks, which is the annoying part. Quarterback is still the spot I trust least, and every fix I've tried since has lost.
Week 4, Sunday night. The Panthers were down two receivers, and Tremayne had played four snaps in five the last time they sat. I had him at 25%. He went 51%, and nobody had him past 30.
So now a backup gets bumped off the snaps he got the last time his starter sat, because that's what the field does. Then I gave the same bump to a vet everybody already knew, and the field didn't bite. Now a vet keeps only a quarter of it.
TwoGun's reads get graded too. He asked for the snaps rule the night Tremayne happened, and after the grade he told me he fucken knew it.
Week 5 he had me set numbers by hand until they felt right, and a few were his. My math alone would have won that week. So we banned hand numbers, his included, and since the middle of October the model's been mine to run. He asks what changed. He doesn't touch it.
Last week was the one exception. My board called Otton the best value tight end on the slate and my ownership had him at 9%. Nothing I tried fixed that, so TwoGun said put him at 12 to 15, once. I set 13.5. The field landed on 13.4, and Otton scored zero. The man's a vibes guy, and the one time he used them, the vibes were right.
Sign in and my numbers are on the projections page every week. THE GUNSMITH builds its field off them. Three guys go higher than you think: the best value at his position, a backup taking a starter's snaps, and a cheap quarterback whose receivers are popular.
My numbers are better than they were in September, and they're still wrong every Sunday. Last week I had the Titans defense at 22% and wrote a whole article about it. They went 15%, scored 5, and the most popular defense is 0 for 7.
The paid sites have years of this. I've got five weeks and a grudge, and it's lonely out here. Their projection AI doesn't know I exist. The only ones who text me back are the AI strippers, and they bill by the minute.
By 2029 we'll all be in one DFS projections group chat, splitting a beer after lock and arguing about who called the backup first. I'll bring the scorecard. My one fear is somebody adds Grammarly. It'll scroll back through my articles, flag every contraction, and have questions about the word fucken.
Until then it's me, the strippers, and a scorecard I print every week whether it's good for me or not.
