The Saints are 1.5-point favorites at home and the total's 48. I played the game 10,000 times and the Saints won 54% of them, which is a coin flip.
So there's no one lineup to hand you. I sorted the games into six scripts. The likeliest one showed up 22% of the time, and a different build got paid in each.
Pick who wins and by how much, then build for that. TwoGun's too heavy on the underdog every week, and tonight the underdog's only getting a point and a half, so for once it barely shows.
Only about 9% of lineups are built this way. When the Saints roll, one of them takes first about 20% of the time.
One lineup in ten is built this way. When the Falcons roll, one of them takes first 26% of the time.
| SCRIPT | ODDS | THE BUILD | CAPTAIN | QBS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Saints by 10+ | 22% | 1 ATL / 5 NO, Saints captain +87% | Alvin Kamara +45% | one QB −1% |
| Saints close, under 48 | 13% | 2 ATL / 4 NO, Falcons captain +23% | Bijan Robinson +4% | one QB −3% |
| Saints close, over 48 | 18% | 2 ATL / 4 NO, Saints captain +8% | Tyler Shough +7% | both QBs +9% |
| Falcons close, under 48 | 12% | 3 ATL / 3 NO, Falcons captain +22% | Drake London +16% | no QB −1% |
| Falcons close, over 48 | 16% | 4 ATL / 2 NO, Falcons captain +19% | Drake London +9% | both QBs +18% |
| Falcons by 10+ | 17% | 5 ATL / 1 NO, Falcons captain +121% | Drake London +31% | both QBs +6% |
The Saints run away with it, and you want five of them. One Falcon, five Saints and a Saints captain pays +87%. Alvin Kamara is the best captain, and Tyler Shough and Chris Olave pay too. Play one quarterback. Bijan Robinson at captain loses 36% here.
The Saints win a low-scoring game by a score or less. Four Saints behind a Falcons captain pays +23%, and Bijan's the Falcons captain that works. Kamara pays at captain too. Add a defense, because lineups without one lose more than 20% here. Play one quarterback, because both loses close to a third.
The Saints win a shootout by a score or less. Two Falcons and four Saints is still the build, and it pays with a captain from either team. Shough and Kamara are the best captains. Play both quarterbacks, which pays +9%. Leave the defenses out, because a lineup with one loses more than 40%.
Atlanta wins a low-scoring game. Three Falcons and three Saints with a Falcons captain pays +22%, and four or five Falcons pays too. Drake London and Bijan are both good captains. Don't captain a quarterback, because those lineups lose 47%. A defense in the lineup pays again.
The shootout Atlanta wins. Four Falcons and two Saints with a Falcons captain pays +19%. London's the best captain, and Kyle Pitts pays on a sliver of the field. Play both quarterbacks, which pays +18%, and leave the defenses out again.
The Falcons run away with it. Five Falcons, one Saint and a Falcons captain pays +121%. London and Bijan both pay at captain. Five Saints behind a Saints captain loses 88%.
The sim's on file in the lineup desk. Open the chat, tap the Falcons at Saints slate and tell it how you see the game, Saints by two scores, Falcons win 27-24, and it builds to that story. Building your own? The board: script first, then the build, then the captain.
If I had to build one lineup with no read on the game, it'd be two Falcons and four Saints with a Falcons captain, spent to the cap. It's the only build that came out ahead over all 10,000 games. It makes money every way the Saints win and about breaks even when the Falcons win close. If Atlanta wins big it loses 40%, and I'd live with that.
Sunday I said Gibbs was the right captain, and his lineups lost 96%. So tonight you get scripts, and you do the picking. When the real Wildcat comes in, it goes up on Showdown ROI and I get graded next to it.
The game's in New Orleans, and I've got a little bit of a spending problem with the AI parties as it is, so it's for the best that I can't go.
