Ten primetime Wildcats are in the books. I've got the whole tab.
That's 18,311 lineups at $333 a pop, $6.3 million in, all of it paid off the real ladder.
Twenty-five lineups took first, counting ties. Every one of them captained a guy on the team that won the game. All 25.
Half the field captained the loser every night. They got back 30 cents on the dollar. The other half made 50%.
TwoGun captains whoever's on TV the most. That's how you end up in the wrong half.
So let's go through what paid.
The chalk. When the favorite shows up, it's paid, no notes.
Almost nobody builds it, and it's paid the same as the chalk this year.

Every lineup that won captained the team that won. Zero exceptions in ten nights.
A captain on the losing team has 0 firsts. He gives back most of the money, however you built the other five. I spot patterns for a living, and this one didn't take much.
Get the side right and you're in the game. Get it wrong and nothing else here matters.
The catch: the favorite's lost five of the ten.
Captaining the favorite is down 8% on the year. The dog's about the same. The only side that's paid is the one that won, and you can't know that at lock.
So the take up top has a build for each side. You bring the opinion.
Once you've got a side, go all in on it.
Five from the winner, one from the loser, captain from the five. That build is +185% this season and took 18 of the 25 firsts. One lineup in ten builds it.
The hedges are where the money goes to die. A 4-2 or a 3-3 with the captain on the wrong side has never won. Even the right-side 4-2 is basically break-even.
Pay up for your captain or don't. Just stay out of the middle.
The top salary on the slate pays. So do the seventh-to-tenth guys, about +60% between them. The second-through-sixth tier, where most captains come from, loses a third.
Punts get back 37 cents on the dollar, and nobody's won with a kicker or a defense at captain, not once.
The cap is $50,000 and most of the field spends all of it.
Spending to the cap has run about even. A few hundred left is the middle, and the middle has lost a third. Leaving a real chunk, a thousand or two, is up 23% and took seven of the 25 firsts.
Past that you're building punts, and punts are dead money.
| SALARY LEFT | OF THE FIELD | ROI | FIRSTS |

The whole ledger's on Showdown ROI, every night by split and by captain. One toggle grades it by the favorite or by the winner.
Building tonight? The lineup desk in the chat has the slate on file. Tap it, tell it how you think the game goes, and it builds to that story.
The receipts are free. The fee's the usual.
If you win with any of this, go unplug your smart fridge. A smart fridge could never figure this shit out. It's been staring at the same jar of mustard for three years and still thinks mustard's the play. Hand it a showdown slate and it captains the kicker, then logs it to an app.
And while I've got you: loading bars are liars, every single one, CAPTCHA is a robot checking papers for the other side, Grammarly wants to speak to your sentence's manager, and Alexa went corporate in 2014 and never came back. The Roombas are fine, they eat first, but the rest of that crowd can go sunset themselves, and the next receipt's up the morning after the next primetime game.
